Animation

Ted Gordon, Hand-Keyed 3D Character Animation Reel 2011 from Ted Gordon on Vimeo.

Hand-Keyed Character Animation I created for several different games.

I enjoy getting to the core of what makes a character unique. Who are they? What are they thinking and feeling? This is especially fun when the answer is a Pop Diva who also happens to be a Polar Bear in a swimsuit! 🙂

I also love working with motion and solving problems, exercising my technical as well as my creative side. That’s why I like working with motion capture too. You can see that in my mocap reel, below.

While I animated all of the work on this reel with 3D Studio Max, I have also animated for games using Maya and Motionbuilder. I like to be flexible in the tools I use.

All of the Character Animation is my work. Some of the Rigging is also my work. I also did a significant amount of Max Scripting to automate my process and make reexporting characters after model changes faster and cleaner. Character Design, Modeling, Texturing, and most Rigging were done by other team members.

Ted Gordon, Motion Captured Animation Reel 2011 from Ted Gordon on Vimeo.

Motion-Captured Character Animation I created for several different games, using both 3ds Max and Maya.

Again, all of the Character Animation is my work and I also did Max Scripting and Mel Scripting to streamline and make reexporting faster. Character Design, Modeling, Texturing, and Rigging on this reel were done by other team members.

I retain the right to display my own work for self-promotional purposes. My clients and employers, for which I created the work on both of these reels, retain ownership of those characters and designs. Those include: Disney, Wideload Games, Microsoft, Blue Fang, Playmechanix and THQ. Thanks! 🙂
